Managing tracheostomy related emergencies can be stressful for all involved.
The trust has recently approved the use of a new guideline for the management of tracheostomy related problems which can be found above.
In addition, an excellent online micro-learning module (with accompanying videos) aimed at doctors, nurses and physios has been developed which explains tracheostomies and how to manage emergencies.
