The department has an excellent active teaching programme for those at all stages of training.
Primary FRCA teaching occurs weekly on Wednesday afternoons led by Dr Suzie Ward.
Final FRCA teaching occurs weekly on Thursday afternoons led by Dr Sidd Nene.
Post-finals teaching days are held less frequently but are usually run in conjunction with our neighbouring hospitals and cover a variety of topics particularly relevant to senior trainees. Recent days have included talks on becoming a consultant, interviews, job planning, finances, NHS pensions and CV workshops.
It is a known fact that cake improves learning ability and thus exam success. Cake is therefore mandatory at weekly teaching and a cake rota is in operation. Prizes at the end of term for the best!
